From Bought Wheat to a Field

A first look at Megacorp Empire's connected grain chain and the choice between immediate supply and owned production.

The Operations board showing Seed, Wheat, Flour, and Bread across the owned grain chain.

The bakery can now take a longer route to its flour: seed → wheat → flour → bread → customer.

There are deliberately two viable ways to source grain. Valley Grain Co-op can sell wheat immediately in a bounded market window. That makes it the faster way to keep a mill running. An owned wheat field takes more capital, seed, operating cash, and time, but it gives the company another production decision to coordinate.

The same Operations chain stacked in source order on a mobile screen.

The field is optional. A company can progress by buying wheat, milling it, baking bread, and making a sale without buying land. If it does buy a field, ten kilograms of seed and operating cash are committed to a timed harvest; the completed wheat can feed the mill or meet Riverside Grain's limited demand. Neither route promises a profit. Prices, capacity, carrying cost, and available buyers still determine the result.

The Operations board keeps those choices together: stock and work in progress at each stage, live market windows, the slower owned-supply route, and the next chapter objective. The generic dispatch cards remain the place to start and queue field, mill, and bakery work, so there is still one authoritative production system.
